Roy Lichtenstein is an artist that's been around for a minute. He's widley known for his "Classic Comic Book" style and is usually branded as "Pop-Art". I've seen his work plenty of times but never really registered a face and a name with the work. I recently bumped into his themes when I was doing the Airtrix airbrushed helmet post. There was a helemet with a Roy Lichtenstein inspired theme. As always, we aim to compile the compelling, so I Spider-Man'd the web and unearthed content for you. So click on the links, google your noodle and post a comment or two. Also there are a few links that can guide you to a few diffrent sites regarding the artist. I have also clipped the wikipedia opening description and pasted it below.
Roy Fox Lichtenstein (October 27, 1923 – September 29, 1997) was a prominent American pop artist, his work heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the comic book style. He himself described Pop art as, "not 'American' painting but actually industrial painting".It's hard to read but the caption below the frame shown above says this piece is named "Crak"
and was one of the works boosted from the Abergs Musem.
